Free to Be Counselling
My name is Claire. Let me tell you a little about myself so you can see if you feel we can work together to support you in finding freedom from what holds you back.
I began training as a Counsellor in 2012. Since then, I have completed a Post-Graduate university qualification in Psychotherapy. I have experience of Counselling in a range of settings.
I’ve previously worked as a High School Teacher for over 16 years and also have experience of working in the Social Care, Higher Education and Charity Sectors. I’ve learnt a lot about myself and human relationships through my varied life experience. I’ve also worked as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Advisor and Counsellor at a local University and currently combine Freelance Writing and Training on Wellbeing and Mental Health issues with Counselling and Psychotherapy in Preston and surrounding areas. I’m a Mum of 2. All these experiences help me to understand and connect with others in my counselling work. That said, I want to listen and understand what life is like for YOU?

I offer Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. This is a type of emotionally focussed Talking Therapy that combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit your individual needs. Integrative Therapy incorporates a Person Centered and Humanistic approach.

The relationship between us is what holds the different strategies together, so that the approach we take is something we both feel is a good fit for you. Sometimes that might include creative tasks, activities and experiments in our work together. I’ll support you as a individual unique human, meeting you in your pain. I won’t shy away from the things you find difficult. I’ll be interested in your positive traits and behaviours, and your own ability to make decisions that feel a good fit for you.
